Gender equality is still far from being achieved. One of the reasons is the myth that ICT specialties are “more masculine.” 27% of Ukrainians share this opinion, and 21% of parents encourage their children to choose a profession that is “suitable for a boy/girl.”
What’s really happening? In fact, surveys and studies show that Gender inequality women are capable of achieving success and becoming leaders in any field, including due to personal factors.
For example, women make teams’ workloads reasonable and offer emotional support to colleagues, according to respondents to the McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.

And DDI research showed that almost 78% of women are excellent mentors and coaches who are able to empower new generations of teams in companies and organizations.
In this context, I am pleased to be involved in CDTO Campus, an educational project Gender inequality created by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, which trains leaders of Ukraine’s digital transformation.
At the beginning of the project, the share of female graduates seeking to improve their technical and leadership skills was 18.94%. Now, almost a year later, it is 43.56%.
We were able to achieve such results, including through the implementation of the “UNDP: Leadership Program for Women Involved in the Digitalization of Public Services.” 20 participants from all over Ukraine honed both the leadership and digital skills necessary to manage today’s powerful digital projects.
Ukraine is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history
The role of women in society is growing.
We, in the army, volunteer movements, business, and politics, have vk data become a symbol of indomitability, determination, and inspiration.
In my opinion, Ukrainian women prove every day that gender does not determine competence or strength. Especially in business.
In numbers:
— The share of women among new registrations measurement and analysis of results of individual entrepreneurs in 2024 is 62.49%. This is a record figure for the last 4 years.
— Women open sole proprietorships more often than men. The trend has continued over the past 5 years.
— Even in 2022, during the beginning of a full-scale war, when the number of new individual entrepreneurs decreased, women still registered more of them than men.
